How to Make a Better, Scientifically Robust Archaeology

What makes academic or professional archaeology different from the Netflix hit Ancient Apocalypse? In many cases, not much. We must work with the indigenous populations whose cultural patrimony we study. And we must offer explanations that are relevant today. In this talk I outline work in these three areas to make a better archaeology.
