The lecture will examine the concept of refugee solidarity movements, focusing particularly on the solidarity initiatives that emerged and evolved following the 2015 "long summer of migration”. Specifically, it will address the following questions: What are the defining characteristics of refugee solidarity groups? What diverse forms of solidarity practices exist? What motivates individuals to participate in solidarity activism? What challenges do they encounter? The lecture will provide a comprehensive analysis of the meanings that participants attach to their involvement, with particular emphasis on the use of the language of care to describe their engagement.
