Teaching and research activities of the PhD Programme aim to:

• Reshape spacial layouts of social and political science as well as humanities

• Study intercultural contact/conflict phenomena

• Analyse origin and transformation of political, social and cultural phenomena from a global persective

• Affirm and criticize human rights policies according with new definitions of subjectivity and identity construction process

• Rethink and renew disciplinary traditions and analytic categories in order to develop new conceptual perspectives and methods

• Assume a multi-layered, non-progressive, non-cumulative idea of time

• Combine the weave of diverse scales of analysis with comparative and transnational methodologies

• Intertwine the conceptual and empirical dimensions of historical, philological, social, geographic and anthropological research

• Connect technological development with environmental issues
