Two thematic courses of 16 hours each, dedicated to the in-depth study of astrophysical research topics currently taught in the Department. The course is led by specialists from national and international institutes.
The aim of the courses is to provide PhD students with professional knowledge of the various fields of astrophysical research in addition to their job-specific knowledge.
The first-year courses will cover topics related to (a) Planet Formation and Stellar Astrophysics (b) Dynamics of Stellar Systems

The course covers numerical and computational techniques with applications in astrophysics.
The aim of the course is to provide doctorate students with specific skills in the computational field, concerning numerical and statistical techniques that may be useful in research.
The course will be delivered by researchers from national and international institutes as well as through a collaboration with CINECA.

This course will provide skills related to the writing, design and preparation of scientific articles, computing/telescope hour proposals or funding proposals in the field of astrophysics.
The aim of the course is to equip doctorate students with the tools required for the written and oral communication and dissemination of their results, as well as problem-solving skills.
