The course will be held by prof. Gian Piero Gibiino and is part of the training provided for IBES PhD Students (a.y.2025/2026) within the Electrical Engineering (EE) curriculum.
Date:
Event location: TBD
Type: IBES Course
ABSTRACT
The Course focuses on the working principles of vector network analyzers (VNAs) for the high-frequency characterization of electrical components/sub-systems and material properties. Starting from the formulation of scattering parameters theory for linear networks, the Course addresses the main hardware elements of a modern VNA and the corresponding calibration techniques. An overview of the applications in the context of component parameter/material property identification in the frequency domain, as well as time-domain reflectometry, will be discussed.
This course is part of the IBES training activities for the a.y. 2025/2026.
