  • Separable and entanglement states; Schmidt decomposition, entanglement entropy, other criteria and witnesses
  • Entanglement-based Protocols: EPR and Bell inequalities; teleportation
  • Reversible computation and quantum circuits
  • Universal gate sets
  • Basic quantum algorithms: Deutsch, Grover and quantum cryptography 
  • Physical implementation with trapped ions
  • Models for quantum noise: depolarising, dephasing and amplitude-damping channels
