Lecturer: Elisa Ercolessi (Unibo)
Duration: 12 hours
Learning outcomes: Students will acquire some knowledge on the fundamental laws and principles at the heart of the second quantum revolution. In particular they will be introduced to the theoretical framework of quantum information, communication and computation. At the end of the course, students will be able to describe and analyse the main protocols and discuss their applications to problems in physics.
After a 2h introduction of the main concepts and of possible subjects to be covered, students will be divided in different groups to focus on a specific theme. The goal of the remaining classes (that can be attended either in person or online) will be the preparation of a final presentation on the chosen topic: students will be accompanied in reading some recent literature, discussing things collectively, writing a short report and organizing the final discussion.
