Lecturer: Alberto Piccioni
Duration: 12 hours
Learning outcomes: In this course the students learn the fundamental principles of the instrumentation for the acquisition and generation of analog signals, including analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, amplifiers and function generators. Furthermore, they gain a basic knowledge of important signal processing techniques such as FFT and digital filtering. Thanks to laboratory sessions, the students are able to design and program a measurement chain for signal acquisition and generation. Most of the examples of the course are based on C++ programming language and LabVIEW.
Exam: The exam will be carried out during the last laboratory session, in groups of two or three students, and consists in a practical assignment selected from a set of proposed topics. This activit will require the application of the cincepts learned during the course.
