Michele Bartolini is PhD Student at the University of Bologna - Department of Statistical Sciences "Paolo Fortunati". Strong passion for economic policy and public policy evaluation. Throughout his academic career, he has tried to explore and deepen the relationships between politics and economics, and how these have an influence on people's lives and societies.
He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Roma Tre. Subsequently, he completed his Master's degree in Economics at the University of Bologna. During this period he was particularly interested in public economics and welfare systems, with a specific focus on public pension systems.
As a PhD student at the University of Bologna, his current research focuses on the adequacy and financial sustainability of public pension systems. His ambition is to contribute to the development of reform proposals and corrective measures for pension systems, aimed at improving their sustainability in the long run.

She used to work for Investment Banks and for multinational consulting firms for five years, in addition to gaining an experience in London. Claudia Garofoli is PhD Student at the University of Bologna – Department of Statistic Sciences “Paolo Fortunati”.
In 2023 she obtained a master’s degree in "Economics and Public Policy" at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
The theme of the call to which she has been assigned is the "Development of statistical models for the design of marketing tools and the definition of commercial policies" in collaboration with Coop Alleanza 3.0.
The objectives of her research are the development of statistical methods to support the implementation of public policies to reduce the environmental impact of purchases, promote healthier consumption and ensure greater economic and social sustainability.
Other research interests concern the study of social inequalities and the distribution of income through the use of linear models, discrete choice models and counterfactual analysis through the use of STATA software.

He is a specialist in Health Economics & Outcome Research (HEOR) for the IRCCS Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori "Dino Amadori" - IRST and collaborates with the hospital sector of the Emilia-Romagna Region. In the past, he has worked in the Healthcare department of the CINECA inter-university consortium after some experiences between CROs and pharmaceutical companies.
He holds a Master's Degree in Health Economics, Management and Policy and a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics and Social Research from the University of Bologna.
After years of work experience in the pre-marketing phase of clinical research, he focused his research interest on the study of outcomes in the diagnostic-clinical pathway of cancer patients, on public governance models of social and health services and on the evaluation of health technologies in a value-oriented perspective.

After studying Economics and Business Management at the University of Trieste, she obtained her Master's Degree in Resource Economics and Sustainable Development at the University of Bologna, and then embarked on her research career.
The focus of investigation is on the circular economy and, in particular, quantitative methods for the formulation and design of public policies to analyse the effect of structural changes, global dynamics and spillovers on innovation capabilities.
The research object is international trade and in particular which international trade agreements are effective policies to promote the circular economy. An analysis of current trade flows aims to reconstruct the global production chain, classifying states and sectors and thus assessing their participation in global value chains.

His research interests revolve around the evaluation of public policies, particularly those related to the educational system. Specifically, his research focuses on analyzing the inequalities within the educational system, the right to education in a broad sense, the meritocratic system underlying it, and the impacts associated with residency. Through a quantitative approach, his objective is to operationalize an evaluation function for the effectiveness of the education system, examining the effects of current measures aimed at reducing inequalities.
Previously, his research has centered on the working system, specifically the four-day workweek. He earned a bachelor's degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences at the Forlì campus of the University of Bologna and a Master's degree with honors in Political Administration and Organization, also at the University of Bologna.
