PhD Board

The PhD Board is the scientific and educational body that manages the doctoral program. It is composed of university professors and researchers with proven scientific experience, whose task is to organize courses, assign supervisors, approve training programs and the progress of doctoral students' research, and propose final examination committees.

It includes professors from various departments of the University of Bologna, including the Forlì and Ravenna campuses. FICLIT is the Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies, which is the lead department, and its associates are: Cultural Heritage (DBC), Arts (DAR), Architecture (DA), Education Sciences (EDU), Computer Science (DISI), Economics (DSE), Interpreters and Translators (DIT), History (DISCI), Languages (LILEC).

The research carried out by the professors affiliated with the program covers different areas of interest, represented by equally diverse scientific disciplines in different fields: area 1 with computer science and engineering; area 10 with philology, literature, art, design, languages, and linguistics; area 11 with history, anthropology, philosophy and language theory, teaching and pedagogy, book and document sciences.

At the beginning of each doctoral cycle, the Board redefines its composition, confirming its members and, if necessary, adding new figures from within or outside the University of Bologna and the academic world in general.
