The Centre has been active since 1991 at the University of Bologna and aims to improve and disseminate knowledge and the study of European Law. To this end, C.I.R.D.E. promotes research in cooperation with other Italian and foreign universities, carries out postgraduate studies and organises advanced training courses and Master's degrees. In addition, it offers consultancy and professional development activities to numerous public and private organisations. The Centre makes use of its in-house expertise from the University of Bologna and the collaboration of national and international scholars. It works in synergy with numerous officials and experts from European Union institutions.
Centre for the Study of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Director: Prof. Rolando Pini
Its activity is mainly oriented towards the study of the regulatory system relating to Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) at international, European and national level, in order to carry out an interdisciplinary analysis carried out on different levels, with the main purpose of verifying the existence or non-existence of a homogeneous but above all effective legal regulatory framework for the enhancement of the entrepreneurial activity carried out by this particular type of enterprises, which represents the real driving force, morè than big industry, of the European and national economy.
Inter-University Centre for Research in Comparative Law - Operating Unit University of Bologna

Established in 2004 and renewed in 2017, by virtue of a cooperation agreement between the Universities of Insubria - Como branch -, Milan, Bologna and Trieste, its specific purpose is to promote the implementation of research programmes and scientific and cultural in-depth studies on issues concerning the birth and development of the different legal terminologies operating in the different systems.

The Jean Monnet module “EULA - EU Law for Algorithm” analyses the impact of algorithms in the framework of EU law using multiple perspectives, such as labour law, private law, commercial law and health law. Through research lines, courses, seminars and awareness-raising activities, EULA aims to achieve a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the use of algorithms and their applications in people's lives.
