Digital Twin for Power Systems

The course will be held by prof. Alessandro Mingotti and is part of the training provided for IBES PhD Students (a.y.2024/2025) within the Electrical Engineering (EE) curriculum.

  • Date: 03 FEBRUARY 2025  from 9:00 to 15:00

  • Event location: Room 0.8 - Viale Risorgimento, 2 - Bologna

  • Type: IBES Course

This course is part of the IBES training activities for the a.y. 2024/2025.

ABSTRACT

The course aims to describe the Digital Twin concept. A general introduction on its origins is provided to better understand the need for this technology. Afterwards, the course presents the theory, the advantages, the disadvantages, and the possible applications of the digital twin (DT). The core of this course is dedicated to the digital twin implementation in power systems. This is possible only if distributed measurement systems and sensors are deployed. Lastly, the course will provide actual examples of DT implemented by electrical utilities.

Further information about the schedule, the minimum attendance rate and the exam format is outlined HERE and detailed by the instructor during the course.
