The Ph.D. in Biomedical, Electrical and Systems Engineering is characterized by an extraordinary breadth of scientific issues related to the contents of the scientific areas in the Department of Electric, Electronic and Information Engineering "Guglielmo Marconi" (DEI) of the University of Bologna.

The level of scientific excellence achieved by the DEI is clearly documented by the number of international publications and cooperations, which put it in the top positions of the ranking of the Departments of the University of Bologna.

The participants of the Ph.D. in Biomedical, Electrical, and Systems Engineering are then involved in a scientific activity of the highest level and make an important contribution to the development of research in the DEI.

The breadth of training that a Ph.D. in Biomedical, Electrical, and Systems Engineering offers is demonstrated by the three curricula activated in each field of research: Biomedical, Electrical, and System Engineering (including Automatic Control and Operations Research).
