BIO

Hananeh Esmailbeigi is a Clinical Associate professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She obtained her B.S. in Biomedical/bioelectrical Engineering from Tehran Polytechnic and her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from UIC. She pursued her postdoctoral at Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Farm Research Campus, where she continued to work as an engineer developing novel neural interfaces and recording systems.  She is now the director of the Wearable Technology and Sensory Enhancement Laboratory at UIC where her research is focused on the development of discreet wearable technology that augment humans' ability and encourages independence for the disabled community. She is also the co-founder and CEO of HideIT Wearables Innovation Inc.
