WORLDLIT - World Literature and Postcolonial Studies

You will be able to explore different topics inscribed in a multifaceted and interconnected historical becoming such as decolonisation, cultural and linguistic diversity, inclusion and citizenship

World Literatures

The curriculum proposes a transversal approach to research into world literature. The aim of this research is to consider the relationship between theoretical approaches born in different historical moments, ontologically different from each other yet connected and at the centre of transdisciplinary critical paths.

Your studies will focus on very diverse topics that nonetheless are all part of a multiform and interconnected historical becoming: decolonization, cultural and linguistic diversity, inclusion and citizenship, migrations, traditions and social innovation, hyper diversity, ecologically complex environments and cultural heritage; these topics are also considered from a transcultural perspective. It also comprises a specific approach to literary practice as a complex force, placed at the heart of local and global processes of distribution and dissemination which, in turn, affect the relationship between culture and territory, rethinking dominant systemic models in light of ethical and plural paths. The concept of 'literary form' will be studied from a diachronic and synchronic perspective, sensitive to the reader's pathways of reading, enjoyment and involvement.

Elements of internationalisation

You will spend a research period abroad of 6 months: you will have a wide choice of international universities.

You will be able to access co-tutorships with foreign universities: log in with your @unibo.it credentials on the Intranet to find out the University's procedure.
