PhD Programme in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences (STVA) 42nd cycle

The opening meeting of the 42nd cycle of the PhD STVA will take place on: 23 October 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Room G2, BiGeA Department Via Zamboni 67, Bologna

During the meeting, each PhD candidate enrolled in the 42nd cycle will be formally assigned a supervisor and a co-supervisor.
You will be asked to present your research project with the support of a PowerPoint presentation. You will have five minutes for your presentation, followed by a short question-and-answer session.
Your presentation should briefly cover:
  • the objectives and main activities of your research project;
  • a preliminary three-year work plan;
  • the period you plan to spend abroad, if applicable, including the proposed host institution, if already identified;
  • any other activities or expected outcomes already envisaged as part of your PhD programme.
All PhD candidates enrolled in the 42nd cycle must attend. All other STVA PhD candidates, supervisors and co-supervisors are warmly invited to join the meeting (the STVA PhD student representatives are kindly requested to circulate this information among all STVA PhD candidates).
