Detailed description

PhD students’ activity will include: 

1.      Field research on unresolved, complex and innovative topics (among which: reading old and modern manuscripts; archive consultation; creation of digital archives and online data; analysis with philological and linguistic tools)

2.      Bibliographic research 

Research training for PhD students’ will include:

1.      Lectures by PhD supervisors

2.      Lectures by Italian and, especially, foreign guests

3.      Seminars by Italian and foreign professors

4.      National and international conferences

5.      Seminars or conferences organised by the PhD students themselves, of the same or other Doctoral Programmes.

Internationalisation:

  1. A study-abroad period (at least 6 months)
  2. Privileged access for foreign PhD students
  3. Classes and seminars delivered by foreign scholars
  4. Co-supervision agreements for joint PhD conferral
  5. Presence of foreign scholars in the PhD examination board commission judging the doctoral dissertations
  6. Dissertation defence possible also in a foreign language
  7. Active participation in international conferences 

 

Expected production and results:

During the three-year duration of the programme, PhD students are expected to present at least at one national or international conference, publish one paper in an A or B level scientific journal and receive rights of publication for their dissertation.
