PhD students' activities program as authorised by the Admission Board
Core/Shared Teaching (30 hours):
Lectures dedicated to cross-cutting skills such as European project drafting, public speaking, Academic English, etc.
Lectures dedicated to the "Masters" cycle: seminars led by internal and/or external faculty members, dedicated to major authors within the PhD research areas; ahead of these seminars, PhD candidates are required to read one or more works by the selected authors.
Lectures on topics of collective interest (e.g., language and literature teaching/pedagogy, etc.).
Curricular Teaching (50 hours):
NB: For PhD candidates who are "isolated" regarding their chosen research theme (Digital Humanities, Romance Philology, Palaeography, Linguistics), a completely customized study plan remains possible, subject to the supervisor's approval; curricular teaching activities may include attendance at Master’s degree courses (insegnamenti magistrali). However, in terms of hour calculation, these have a 2:1 ratio compared to doctoral teaching (i.e., two hours of a Master's degree course are equivalent to one hour of doctoral teaching).
Elective Teaching (20 hours): to be agreed upon with the supervisor.
Please refer to the "CLF Tables" attachment available below. Please note that for training activities lasting 10 hours or more, an attendance rate of 75% is required. The number of Doctoral Credits (Crediti Dottorali) to be claimed for recognition must be calculated by each PhD candidate proportionally to the number of hours attended.
ANY VARIATION FROM THIS SCHEME MUST BE AGREED UPON WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR AND SUBMITTED TO THE ACADEMIC BOARD FOR APPROVAL.
