The series will consist of two-hours seminars that will take place during March and April 2024. Seminars will focus on the ideal of the rule of law. which lies at the basis of liberal constitutional systems. The seminars will address relevant issues concerning the philosophical and conceptual facets of this ideal and then, will inquire into the applicative dimension of the rule of law with a focus on how it constrains legislative discretion, legal reasoning, judicial argumentation and the use of artificial intelligence in legal decision-making processes:

  1. Rule of law: the concept
  2. Rule of law: foundations
  3. Rule of law: law, prospectivity and retrospectivity
  4. Rule of law: law, precedents and legal reasoning
