TEACHING AND TUTORING

The Doctoral Course in "Nanosciences for Medicine and the Environment" allows and encourages the participation of doctoral students in teaching and tutoring activities within the limits of coherence and compatibility with the research activities carried out. This integrated approach is designed to enrich the doctoral student's educational path, offering opportunities that enhance their skills and experience. In particular, the course intends to recognize and enhance the activities carried out by doctoral students in two specific areas:

- Co-supervision of bachelor's and master's theses. The Doctoral Course in "Nanosciences for Medicine and the Environment" recognizes the important role of the doctoral student when he takes on the role of co-supervisor for bachelor's and master's theses. This role involves the doctoral student's commitment to training the graduating student, guiding him through the various phases of the research work. The doctoral student provides guidance on the most appropriate methodologies for writing the thesis and for presenting the results obtained. The role of co-supervisor allows the doctoral student to develop mentoring and supervision skills, fundamental for his future academic and professional career.

- Paid tutoring activities. The Doctoral Course in "Nanosciences for Medicine and the Environment" also enhances paid tutoring activities. These calls offer doctoral students the opportunity to actively participate in the training of students in the first and second cycles of university education. These activities may include teaching support, conducting practical exercises, and assisting students in developing their academic skills. These activities not only enrich the doctoral student's educational experience, but also contribute to the proper functioning and quality of the training offer of the Departments that support the Doctoral Course. Participating in these teaching and tutoring activities allows doctoral students to acquire didactic and pedagogical skills, improving their ability to communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible manner. This experience is especially valuable for those aspiring to academic or educational careers, as it provides hands-on teaching experience and enhances their education skills; it also promotes leadership and teamwork skills.

Involvement in thesis supervision and tutoring allows doctoral students to strengthen their understanding of the research disciplines. Explaining your research to less experienced students offers new perspectives and can lead to new ideas and approaches in your work. These activities promote a collaborative academic environment, fostering a sense of community and mutual support within the Department.
