Professional opportunities for PSCS PhD graduates are wide-ranging and include, above all, advanced academic research, but also qualified roles in universities and research institutions, knowledge communication, publishing, consulting for public and private organisations, the media, social innovation, human resources, and the education sector.
Employment data are very positive: the 2024 Occupational Status Report indicates an employment rate of 100% one year after graduation.
The most common destination is postdoctoral research, especially at universities other than the University of Bologna. At the same time, graduates are also employed in organisations, companies, international projects, and cultural institutions, confirming the programme’s strong placement capacity beyond academia as well.
