Each selected PhD student is assigned a supervisor and a co-supervisor by the doctoral faculty, typically chosen from the faculty members of the college. The role of the primary supervisor is to support the doctoral candidate in the design of their research plan, the execution of empirical fieldwork, and the development and writing of the final thesis.
The primary supervisor and co-supervisor are encouraged to foster the candidate's independence, including through involvement in national or international research projects, participation in the organization of conferences or seminars, and the drafting of abstracts and articles aimed at conference presentations or publication in reputable journals.
Additionally, each PhD candidate is encouraged to build relationships with other members of the doctoral faculty, who contribute to discussions regarding the progression to the next year, as well as with fellow doctoral candidates for peer-to-peer training and collaboration.
