PhD Program in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences
The PhD Program in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences (STVA) embrace a broad spectrum of fundamental and applied disciplines essential for investigating the evolution of life, the superficial and deep processes of the Earth and the planets, current and past ecosystems, geological risks, and biodiversity loss and issues related to the management of the environment and its resources.
Reflected in Water. Development, Resilience, Inequalities
The seminar will be conducted by Prof. Andrea Rinaldo, a recipient of the Stockholm Water Prize, on June 12 at 2:30 PM in Room B of the Belmeloro Complex (Via Andreatta 8). The presentation will focus on urgent issues regarding the management of water resources, considering the impacts of climate change and global inequalities.
Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session. We encourage PhD students from our university whose research aligns with the topics discussed to participate actively in the Q&A session. If you are interested in taking part to the Q&A session, please contact Prof. Barbara Cavalazzi at barbara.cavalazzi@unibo.it by April 22, 2025.

Soil Fauna Applied Ecology and Systematics
The "Summer School" will occur from September 1 to September 5, 2025, in Scarperia (FI). This program is designed to offer students 3 credits and will also provide training credits recognized by the Order of Agronomists (confirmation has already been received) and Biologists. The workshop (5 and 6 June 2025) aims to bring together experts in the field for an in-depth discussion on environmental monitoring and the evaluation of the effects of microplastics, nanoplastics and plastic additives on the environment. At the same time, proposing new ideas for the development of new materials with low environmental impact and on the adaptation of regulatory aspects at Italian and European level.
