International Conference organized by the XXXVIII PhD Cycle in Architecture and Design Cultures of the Department of Architecture
Date: 10 FEBRUARY 2025 from 9:00 to 18:00
Event location: Palazzo D’Accursio Sala Tassinari Piazza Maggiore, 6 Bologna - In presence and online event
Type: Conferences
February 10th, 2025
In the contemporary era, the fluid character of social
and urban relations challenges us to reconsider our
perceptions of tangible and intangible, the visible and the
invisible. The distance between these spheres seems to
blur, leading to an intersection of mutual interactions and
influences between the individual, society and urban space.
[In]tangible is proposed as an inclusive research approach
aimed at declaring and enhancing this continuum, where
the concrete and the abstract coexist and mutually define
each other.
In this context, design projects achieve a dual dimension:
on one side, it is configured as a medium for analyzing and
understanding contemporary dynamics; on the other, it
works as a catalyst for change and innovation in the cities
we inhabit. Through an ongoing dialogue with EU research,
[In]tangible is configured as a transition bridge between the
world of ideas and the world of concrete outputs.
