GHAIA PROJECT

GHAIA will promote excellence in pure and applied mathematical research.

European researchers from Italy, Spain, and France will have the extraordinary opportunity to visit the worldwide leading Universities in the US and Taipei, as well as to receive some of the best researchers from South America.

Emerging technological problems call for the development of a new integrated framework of geometric and harmonic analysis, which unify in an original picture problem strongly influenced by symmetries and coming from different mathematical and technological fields. In this way, we will be able to contribute to some of the biggest challenges of this century: data analysis, models of brain functionality, human and artificial vision.

The final goal will be to obtain new geometrical instruments of machine vision, to be applied to develop new products for the measurement of industrial processes and satellite guidance.

List of the Universities: Princeton U., MIT, Johns Hopkins U., U. Houston, Washington U. St. Louis, Columbia U., U. of Maryland, U. Buenos Aires, U. Western Australia, U. California, Yale U., U. of Pittsburgh, U. Texas, WPI, Stanford U., U. Illinois, Academia Sinica, Queen's U., U. Kingston
