2025/2026 Open Science Project Presentation Workshop

The goal is to share the results of the project and create a conference-like atmosphere: following the presentation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the project.

  • Date: 18 JUNE 2026  from 10:00 to 11:30

  • Event location: Aula C, via Zamboni 34

  • Type: Curricular Class

The focus of this year’s project, carried out by students in the course, is to address the following questions:

1. What are:

1.a. the institutions and countries that either cite or are cited by the IRIS publications included in OpenCitations of a given institution?

1.b. the scholarly disciplines that either cite or are cited by the IRIS publications included in OpenCitations of a given institution?

2. Are different institutions showing different citation patterns, depending on the specific case (1.a or 1.b)?

The project builds on the findings of a recent study that utilized IRIS data from UNIBO, UNIMI, UNITO, UNIPD, UPO, and SNS, as described in the following preprint: Andreose, E., Heibi, I., Peroni, S., & Zilli, L. (2026). Assessing and Comparing the Coverage of Italian Publications in OpenCitations: A Study within Six Italian Universities (arXiv:2602.00912v1; Version 2). arXiv. https://doi.org/10.48550/arxiv.2602.00912

In addition to the results listed above, the primary sources used to answer the research questions are OpenCitations, OpenAIRE, ROR, Scimago Journal Rank, Directory of Open Access Journals, and the Library of Congress classification.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

10:00-10:10: welcoming, instructions, setting up

10:10-10:50: project presentation

10:50-11:25: Q&A

11:25-11:30: closing
