The teaching offer (see the "Highlights" section) is valid for all PhD cycles and it is based upon the earning of Doctoral Credits (DC). They are mandatory for PhD students of 40th and 41st cycles and structured on the criteria mentioned in the available Doctoral credits table (see the "Highlights" section).
They measure the total amount of work required to each PhD Student, divided in research activities, formation and teaching. The earning of each DC requires 25 hours of work. Each PhD student need to earn 60 DC per year (a total of 180 DC divided between formation and research activities during the 3 years of the PhD program). The PhD board has divided the total amount of DC between formation, research activities and teaching by the following criterion: the amount of DC destined to research activities must be around the 78% of the total amount. The PhD board has also established the minimum amount of DCs to be acquired for each of the following activities:
The total amount of DCs to be acquired during the 3 years of the PhD program is 40, equivalent to the 22% of the total of the activities. PhD students, in accordance with their supervisors and co-supervisors, may arrange in a flexible way their training activities, choosing the activities in the respect of the criteria established by the Collegium. DCs' earning will be verified during the end-of-the-year interview. In the CDs table there is also an example of the DCs distribution over the 3 years of the PhD program.
