Teaching

To complement the research work carried out in the laboratory, the teaching activity offers advanced contents of (a) catalysis (synthesis, characterization, reactivity, computational studies), including photocatalysis and electrocatalysis, with the prospect of application in industrial processes; (b) polymeric materials with a high degree of functionalization, for applications in various sectors; (c) new molecules and multifunctional materials for application in various fields (for example, pharmaceutical, energy, optical, environmental, sensing); (d) development of innovative methodologies for the optimization and scale-up of chemical and biochemical process equipment; (e) assessment of the environmental impact of chemical-industrial activities, using methodologies that also include economic and social aspects.

In particular, issues are addressed in the sector of innovative materials for industrial applications and the development of sustainable technologies for the chemical industry. Particular attention is paid to the multidisciplinary aspects of research and to the integration with related disciplines such as Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering. The training objectives also include the achievement of individual skills regarding the organization and management of research activity, the presentation and discussion of the results obtained, the drafting of scientific reports and publications, the in-depth analysis of issues relating to intellectual property and technology transfer, science communication in relation to aspects of industrial chemistry and its applications for the well-being of society and sustainability.
