Current trends and advances in research in bioengineering of human movement: methods and applications - Non-linear Analysis of dynamic systems

ABSTRACT

The seminar will provide an introduction to the fundamental methods of non-linear analysis of dynamic systems for the investigation of the inherent variability of biological systems. Recent literature from several disciplines and medical areas, has shown that many apparently “noisy” phenomena are the result of nonlinear interactions and have deterministic origins. As such, the measured signal, including its “noisy component, can provide important information regarding the system that produced it.

This course is part of the training provided for IBES PhD Students in the academic year 2023/2024.

Those who succesfully attend and complete the course:

• are eligible for max. 1 credit if they are enrolled in cycle 37;
• gain 4 attendance hours of the IBES training for the Bioengineering (BIO) curriculum if they are enrolled in cycle 38 and 39.
