Electrical insulation systems: degradation mechanisms and condition monitoring techniques

ABSTRACT

This course aims at providing an overview of the current technologies of polymeric systems applied as electrical insulators inside electrical equipment. Along with the basics of these materials, their degradation mechanisms in various environments and the most common condition monitoring techniques are presented and discussed.

This course is part of the training provided for IBES PhD Students in the academic year 2023/2024.

Those who succesfully attend and complete the course:

• are eligible for max. 2 credits if they are enrolled in cycle 37;
• gain 5 attendance hours of the IBES training for the Electrical Engineering (EE) curriculum if they are enrolled in cycle 38 and 39.
