Scientific programming in Python: an introduction for bioengineers

ASBTRACT

The course aims at introducing Python for solving biomedical engineering problems. A first part of the course will give students a basic knowledge of Python and the most relevant libraries. A second part of the course will show how to exploit Python functionalities and libraries for solving problems related to bioimages, models of biological systems, processing of kinematics and electrophysiological signals (e.g., EMG/EEG). It is strongly suggested to attend the course in person.

This course is part of the training provided for IBES PhD Students in the academic year 2023/2024.

Those who succesfully attend and complete the course:

• are eligible for max. 2 credits if they are enrolled in cycle 37;
• gain 6 attendance hours of the IBES training for the Biomedical Engineering (BIO) curriculum if they are enrolled in cycle 38 and 39.
