ABSTRACT

The seminar starts from the basics of array theory, to approach two new and promising radiating techniques which could play a strategic role in next-generation networks from both the information and the power transmission point of view. The first family is the Time-modulated array, where the exploitation of the time as additional degree of freedom paves the way for an almost infinite excitation solutions, where the simultaneous multi-harmonic radiation can be dynamically and favourably exploited in many applications. As a second example, the Frequency-Diverse array is considered: in this case, the slightly different frequencies radiated by the antennas allow to have the unique capability to focus the signal/energy at a precise distance.

For both the radiating architectures some demos will be presented during the seminar.
