OBJECTIVES of DIMSAI PHD PROGRAMME

The DIMSAI PhD programme is the main doctorate activated by the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) in terms of number of enrolled students and affiliated members. It aims to train high-profile professional figures who are coveted by companies not only in the region but also nationally and internationally. The thematic areas of the DIMSAI doctorate are those typical of mechanical engineering and energy management systems, ranging from industrial design, mechanical construction, machine mechanics, processing systems and metallurgy; machines, energy, and environmental systems, industrial plants, and logistics; technical physics, air conditioning systems, acoustics, nuclear technologies, and industrial applications of plasmas.

The graduated students are enrolled in Companies in management positions or in project and division management as well as in the R&D divisions. In addition to Company placement, graduated students at DIMSAI generally find employment in public and private research institutions or in professional consultancy and academic research and teaching.

The DIMSAI doctorate offers students a training and research path that provides high-level methodological, theoretical, and experimental skills for managing research and innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Sciences. The proposed training combines in-depth scientific thematic courses with courses capable of providing current and transversal tools applicable to different disciplinary fields.
