EIT4SEMM plays a starring role in ARROWHEAD TOOLS, a European project funded by ECSEL Joint Undertaking

New performance levels along the life Cycle of Structural Health Monitoring Infrastructures with an integrated toolchain and a semantics based IoT platform.

Building on the skills and assets of the EIT4SEMM PhD program  and its students, the Italian team participating to ARROWHEAD TOOLS(1) designed a demonstrator of a Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) infrastructure, based on the Arrowhead Toolchain.

The demonstrator shows the impact of the Arrowhead Tools approach on the design, deployment, operation, management and evolution of SHM infrastructures with the ability to dynamically optimize their behaviour, based on the changing environmental conditions, operating needs and predicted power availability.

The research team includes STMicroelectronics, Eurotech, Reply, Politecnico di Torino and the Italian Inter-University Consortium for Nanoelectronics (Iu.Net), which takes part to ARROWHEAD TOOLS with four affiliates: University of BolognaUniversity of Modena e ReggioPolitecnico di Milano and University of Pisa.

(1) ARROWHEAD TOOLS is an 83,7 M€ ECSEL project (2019-22) addressing digitalization of the engineering industry, coordinated by Prof. Jerker Delsing from Luleå University of Technology (Sweden) and cofunded by EU, the Member States, the Regions and the project partners.
