IGOR VALIC

IGOR VALIC

Research project: Intelligent sensor systems for automotive applications

I was born in Trieste where I attended schools and the first three years of university graduating in Information Engineering (electronic address) with a thesis related to the Development and construction of an inverted pendulum (2021). During this phase I developed a strong passion for electronics that pushed me to continue my studies in this field. I chose to go to Bologna because of the reputation that this university enjoys in electronics and motorsport.

At the University of Bologna I joined the Unibo Motorsport team and this was without doubt one of the most important and rewarding experiences so far. I worked in the electronic division on several projects. Thanks to Unibo Motorsport, the University of Bologna and Prof. Luca De Marchi I had the opportunity to do an internship in the company HPE COXA based on which I graduated with a thesis entitled “Design and development of a wireless system for temperature measurement of electric motors”. This project was also the starting point for the work in which I am currently involved as an employee of HPE Coxa.

The success of the thesis project led to the continuation of the collaboration between the university and the company, thanks to which I had the opportunity to take part in the industrial PhD that I am currently doing.
