ABSTRACT
Massive multiple access (MMA) refers to the problem of transmission of information from a very large number of uncoordinated Internet of Things (IoT) devices to a common base station, a problem that typically arises in the context of massive machine-type communications. This short course reviews the common MMA setting and addresses innovative grant-free access schemes, based on resource diversity and successive interference cancellation, of potential interest for next-generation (6G) wireless networks.
