Interdisciplinary Approach to Global Studies

A.A. 2024/2025

Starting with a definition of the theoretical and epistemological framework of Global Studies, the seminar will explore various approaches to this field in alignment with the course's disciplinary axes (history, area studies, oriental studies, anthropology, geography, political theory, and the history of political thought). Additionally, a series of case studies will be presented to provide concrete examples of research conducted within this perspective.

Teaching methods and assessment:
The seminar is worth 6 Doctoral Credits and consists of 10 sessions of 3 hours each. A participatory approach will be adopted, and a reading list will be provided in advance for each session. To earn the 6 Doctoral Credits, participants are required to submit a paper (5,000–6,000 words) highlighting the distinctive features of the global approach in relation to their specific field of research.
