Cecilia Tossounian is researcher at Conicet (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas) in Argentina and teaches at Universidad de San Andrés. She is currently a visiting scholar at Università di Bologna, where she is working on her new research project about fascist propaganda and material culture among Italians living in Buenos Aires. Tossounian’s research focuses on the history of women and on gender, nationalism, and consumer culture in 20th century Argentina. She is the author of La Joven Moderna in Interwar Argentina: Gender, Nation and Popular Culture (University Press Florida, 2020) and co-editor of América Latina entre espacios: Redes, flujos e imaginarios globales, (Walter Frey, 2014). Tossounian received her PhD in History and Civilization from the European University Institute (2010) and was a postdoctoral scholar at Freie Universität, Berlin (2011-2013).
