Seminars on cancer immunobiology and immunotherapy

1st year - 2 credits

Learning objectives

The aim of this course is to outline the fundamental mechanisms of immune responses against cancer, describe the main classes of human tumor antigens, from a diagnostic and therapeutic perspective. Describe all the main approaches to cancer immunotherapy, including not only those that have had clinical success, but also ongoing therapeutic efforts and major failures. These seminars also aim to provide an overview of the latest immunotargeting-based strategies. Different aspects that can influence this kind of therapies, such as the choice of the molecular target, the antibody properties, the toxic molecule mechanism of action and the conjugation strategies, will be analyzed.
