Economic treatment

The PhD Program in Surgical Sciences of the University of Bologna offers the possibility of obtaining scholarships entirely funded by the University. 

The gross annual amount of the scholarships is € 15,343.28, as defined by Ministerial Decree no. 40 of 25/01/2018. Social security contributions are deducted monthly from the scholarship by the University on behalf of the PhD student.

Furthermore, students will receive up to € 1,535 from the II to the III year to cover research expenses and a 30% increase in the annual scholarship if they spend a minimum of 1 (one) to 18 (eighteen) months period of visit at an international office.

Additional possibilities for financial support are represented by teaching assistantships, official university calls, and research assistantships (usually administered by professors who use their funds for research).

 

University fees

The amount of university fees that students must pay annually is approximately € 157.64.
