DISSERTATION

Information on the final exam and degree conferment

All PhD students enrolled in the final year of the program must submit an application for admission to the final exam and upload their thesis within the deadlines established for each PhD cycle.

Each thesis is evaluated by at least two reviewers, chosen by the Academic Board from individuals external to the institutions awarding the degree and not part of the examination committee. The reviewers provide a written evaluation of the thesis and recommend either its admission to public discussion or its deferral.

PhD students initially approved for public discussion following a positive assessment by the reviewers will take the final exam before the examination committee on a date set by the Academic Board. PhD students whose public discussion has been deferred by the reviewers will take the final exam on a later date, also determined by the Academic Board.

Publication of a minimum number of original works in indexed international journals per year is required, along with active participation through abstract presentations at national and international conferences on an annual basis and/or the publication of a book chapter or monograph. It is essential that research activities are published in indexed, high-impact journals.

For currently enrolled PhD students who have to apply for the final exam and thesis can find information on administrative deadlines in the link listed in the right sidebar.
