MOBILITY PROGRAMMES

ERASMUS+ MOBILITY FOR TRAINEESHIPS

PhD candidates are also eligible for Erasmus+ studio and internship.

Erasmus+ studio: The call for Erasmus+ studio is usually opening in January and closing in February. With Erasmus+ studio is possible to spend abroad a period ranging from 3 to 12 months. Please note that not all the agreements are opened for PhD candidates so it will be important to check each agreement individually. 

Erasmus+ traineeship: The call for Erasmus+ internship is now open (deadline for application: May 6th, 2020). With Erasmus+ studio is possible to spend abroad a period ranging from 2 to 12 months. Please note that Erasmus+ internship is open to PhD candidates with no restrictions. This programme is not based on the agreements sign by the Department but it depends on specific agreements signed with companies or other institutions where the internship will be performed. PhD candidates are welcome to identify companies or institutions where they might perform the internship.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SUPPORT RECEIVED WITH ERASMUS+ STUDIO AND ERASMUS+ INTERNSHIP IS FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE PHD SCHOLARSHIP.

MARCO POLO PROGRAMME

The Marco Polo is a programme funded by Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences for providing financial support for young researchers working at DISTAL in order to spend a period toward foreign research centers. The Council of the DISTAL decided that Ph.D. students in STAAA have high priority in access the Marco Polo budget.

EXCHANGE PROGRAMME BETWEEN ITALY & GERMANY

There are available PhD student exchange programmes between Italy and Germany funded by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

INTERNSHIPS IN CHINA (PERIOD OF 3-5 MONTHS)

This EU funded IRES-8 project is looking to engage talented EU PhD students and EU early career researchers to participate in strategically important low carbon energy research in China.

CALL FOR SPIN-OFF IDEAS

This Call offers access to training activities and services aimed at developing business projects. Partecipation is open to professors, researchers, post-doc and PhD students of the University of Bologna, with research projects with entrepreneurial potential in all disciplinary fields

Bando Cassini 2019” is a programme funded by Embassy of France in Rome for the organization of meetings in cooperation with French researchers. There is special section named “Cassini junior” devoted to PhD students.

THINK4FOOD

Call 4 Ideas is open to start-ups, students and researchers under 40, living in Italy or abroad.

A jury of cooperators and experts in the agri-food sector will select the ideas to be connected to the cooperative enterprises and will decide which ones to award in the categories: Start Up (5,000 euros) Researchers (3,500 euros) Students (1,500 euros).

Participation is open to young people under 40 living in Italy or abroad.

UNA EUROPA PhD WORKSHOP

As part of the initiatives of the UNA Europa alliance, two parallel workshops open to doctoral students enrolled in the second or third year who carry out research projects related to “Sustainability in Higher Education” will be organized:

The two workshops, organized by the Freie Universität Berlin as part of the 5th Spring Campus Conference of the University Alliance for Sustainability (UAS), will be held in Berlin on the 3th and 4th of September 2020 and have a cost of participation of 120 euros for doctoral students. However, UNIBO university, as a member of UNA Europa will have 5 places reserved for doctoral students who will not pay this registration fee (which includes participation in conferences, key-notes, coffee breaks twice a day, all lunches, welcome reception, farewell dinner and any excursions). In addition, the costs for travel and accommodation for the selected doctoral students will be covered by the University of Bologna on the UNA Europa funds managed by the international relations office.

OPPORTUNITIES

THE EUROPE WE WANT

Competition of ideas launched by the Academy of Sciences of the Institute in collaboration with the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, the Municipality of Bologna, the Emilia-Romagna Region and with the contribution of the "Fondazione dell Monte di Bologna e Ravenna".

The prizes will consist in the publication of unpublished essays that will be winners and a contribution of the amount of 5,000 euros each, to be used toward an European university or a research institute of recognized international relevance.

REACTOR

ReActor is a school of entrepreneurship and innovation also for Ph.D. students with innovative ideas and a high growth potential. With a strong practical-applicative mindset, the project aims to provide methodologies, tools, and applicable experiences to approach entrepreneurship as a possible path of professional and personal development. EFSA GUEST PROGRAMME CALL 2019

The Guest Programme is also addressed to PhD candidates who can share their expertise in a particular area of EFSA’s activities or are interested in specific projects related to EFSA’s scientific work. It is a cost free scheme for which EFSA does not pay any financial contribution other than those related to the performance of their duties during their secondment.

ALMACUBE SPIN-OFF

AlmaCube work to transform a research project into a product, and to find PhD students who want to develop their entrepreneurial attitude. They facilitate the contact between projects and market and we foster their collaboration with established enterprises. With the support of the Spin-Off Commission and the Knowledge Transfer Office of the University of Bologna, Almacube detects the best tech projects of the University and transforms them into companies. Moreover, the incubated spin-offs are provided with an easy access to the facilities and the laboratories of the University of Bologna, as well as to the knowhow of Alma Mater Community.
